Wipro Launches Mobile Computing Lab

Wipro Technologies has launched a mobile computing lab in Atlanta to support customers developing applications for cell phones and other mobile devices.

The center is the newest addition to the Indian information technology giant's software development operation in Buckhead. Announced in 2007 and launched in early 2009, the center now employs more than 550 people, mostly Georgians.

Wipro will use the lab to help companies test and manage the software that makes their applications run. The company expects the new venture to enable better communication with customers and partners.

Wipro Technologies is a subsidiary of Bangalore, India-based Wipro Ltd. The company's clients include global companies in IT, telecommunications, banking, manufacturing, health care and retail.
