SunTrust Named SBA’s Top Export Lender

SunTrust Banks Inc. doled out more trade financing through the U.S. Small Business Administration than any other bank in fiscal 2010.

One in a limited group of SBA preferred lenders, SunTrust provided 33 export-program loans worth $24.6 million and 17 other types of SBA loans to exporters totaling $2.7 million, according to a news release.

That netted the Atlanta-based bank the Export Lender of the Year award for the second straight year during the SBA's National Small Business Week from May 16-20.

"SunTrust is committed to providing our clients with lending experts who understand their business goals and are able to offer tailored financial solutions to meet their needs in this global market," said Susanne Keough, SunTrust's managing director for global trade solutions.
