Georgia Tech Starts Global MBA Program

Officials from Georgia Institute of Technology traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Nancy, France, last week to kick-off a marketing effort for the university’s GlobalTeam MBA Program slated for the fall of 2005, said Nate Bennett, senior associate dean of the College of Management.

The 16-month MBA program focusing on innovation and change management is a collaboration of Georgia Tech’s business school and ICN École de management de Nancy and the Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires.

Dr. Bennett told GlobalAtlanta that students will earn a Georgia Tech degree, as well as degrees from the technical schools in Nancy and Buenos Aires. Also, U.S. students will earn a masters degree from one of the two foreign schools.

“We would like to have 15 to 20 students in each location for the first time through,” said Dr. Bennett, who helped launch the campaign in Buenos Aires.

The three-semester program includes a two-week kick-off session at Georgia Tech, where all students will attend classes, visit companies and attend cultural events. Prior to the start of the second and third semester, students will spend a two-week residency in Nancy and then in Buenos Aires.

According to Dr. Bennett, all students will take the same classes and receive face-to-face instruction while also working via the Internet with their classmates around the world.

Candidates with several years of professional work experience are encouraged to apply. The total cost for U.S. students is $67,000.
